Loving Workplace Principles Projects
Sharing the Guiding Principles of a Loving Workplace with Resources and Tools to Support Leaders and Teams
The Purpose of the Principles Projects:
Make Loving Workplace Principles available through multiple learning assets and tools to show teams how to put love into practice.
When a team is ready to cultivate more loving practices, what do they need to know to begin?
This project will describe and amplify the core principles of a Loving Workplace and make resources, tools, and learning experiences available to share with leaders and teams.
A team of experts from the Center’s community has formed to take on this challenge. These principles derive from our deep experiences in loving workplaces and as a community working together. These principles provide the foundation for a team or organization seeking to build a more loving way of working.
Join us by engaging in facilitated sessions, using the tools and insights created, and sharing these with others!
Project Deliverables
This project team will:
Organize and host facilitated workshops to engage in developing insights and tools, examples, and stories explaining the value of these principles.
Develop articles, tools, and self-led experiential learning on the principles to be made available leaders and teams.
A product roadmap for the development of resources, tools, and learning experiences on each principle for effectively sharing Loving Workplace Principles with the world.
Here are the Loving Workplace Principles:
Honor the Whole Person
Love recognizes that people are more than their roles. A loving workplace believes people’s lived experiences, validates their perspectives, and honors their culture, history, and humanity. Stories are sacred.
Foster Safety & Well-Being
Love thrives where people feel safe and cared for. A loving workplace prioritizes emotional, mental, and physical well-being so everyone can show up fully and authentically.
Activate Care
Love is an active commitment to care for, support, and nurture every individual and the collective system. A loving workplace intentionally embodies care for the whole and its parts.
Get Real & Keep it Real
We prioritize honest vulnerability and the pursuit of truth over comfort. A loving workplace acknowledges the human challenges we navigate while engaged at work.
Create Space for Healing & Repair
Love requires acknowledging harm, tending to wounds, and rebuilding relationships. A loving workplace creates room for mistakes, addresses conflict with care, and prioritizes relational repair as part of growth.
Promote Responsibility
Leaders and colleagues all have needs and responsibilities in building and maintaining workplace culture. In a loving workplace, everyone takes ownership of the system's well-being and relational landscape while acknowledging positionality and power.
Respect Complexity
Love makes space for everyone as inherently unique and worthy. A loving workplace recognizes contradictions, challenges, and conflicts as natural and necessary for growth and transformation.
Build Relational Trust
Trust is foundational. A loving workplace creates and nurtures trust, maintains it, and remains open to rebuilding it, even in moments of fear or uncertainty.
Cultivate Joy
Joy is a vital energy source that fuels innovation, creativity, resilience, and meaningful engagement. A loving workplace acknowledges that human potential is unlocked by creating conditions where joy and delight are nourished.
Pursue Learning & Renewal
Sustaining love requires continuous reflection, adaptation, and regeneration. A loving workplace is a learning environment where mistakes become opportunities, curiosity is valued, and renewal is an ongoing individual and collective process.
