The Loving Principles Guide Team Development

Is it possible to develop a team with love?

Yes! Our guides show the way.

Download this guide — the first in a series applying the Loving Workplace Principles to Tuckman's stages of team development. This document equips individuals, leaders, organizations, and practitioners with insights, practices and tool ideas to build human-centered teams from the very beginning.

Learn About This Project

Purpose: This project applies the Loving Workplace Principles to the stages of team development described in the Tuckman Model: forming, storming, norming, performing, and adjourning to create helpful insights and guidance for any team to use to be more loving in their team development process.

Activities:

  • The team leads volunteers in a monthly working session, guiding people through a process of reflecting and sharing insights, examples, tools and resources through discussion and co-writing.

  • These inputs are used by the Project Team to assemble guidance and resources about how to move through the stages of Team Development with Love.

Outputs: This project is producing a set of guidance, tools, and resources for each phase of team development, which are posted on the website for anyone to use.

You are invited to the next working session.

In April, our focus is on the “Norming” phase of group development, and how to set norms with Love.

Join us Friday, April 24, at 8-9:30 am Pacific.

Email Rick@LovingWorkplace.org or Renee at CEO@LovingWorkplace.org for the Zoom details.

In the session, we will work together:

  • We’ll discuss: How do the Loving Workplace principles apply to the Norming stage of the Tuckman Model for Group Development?

  • We’ll all share: Our experiences around the challenges and opportunities we face in the Norming stage.

  • We’ll gather: Practical tools that can help us live into the principles at this stage.

After the session, the project team will assemble your inputs into content that will be shared on this webpage and in other forms. All resources will be attributed appropriately.

We hope to see you there!
